Dr Mandy Crawford-Lee is a sound and respected resource for those involved in the development and delivery of apprenticeships at the higher level. A doctoral graduate from Middlesex University, UK, her professional field of interest is discursive shifts in apprenticeship and skills policy in England.
Having worked with the University Vocational Awards Council (UVAC) – the representative body of those universities and higher education providers that champion higher level technical and professional skills since 2012, both inside and outside of government, Mandy became its director of policy and operations in 2017 and, in October 2021, its first female chief executive. In March 2026, Mandy received an Honorary Doctorate of the University from London South Bank University in recognition of her contribution to higher and degree apprenticeships.
